Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods. FireConnect™ is a technology based on Blackfire provided by Blackfire Research Corp., USA. Sampling rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz are supported. Sharing audio from external analog inputs depends on the model and is enabled with a future firmware update. Selectable 5/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi helps ensure stable connectivity so you can enjoy smooth streaming over AirPlay, the Spotify app, and the local network. Bluetooth wireless technology also provides quick and simple wireless streaming from your choice of music application.
In addition to THX certification, each system comes with THX® Surround EX™; THX listening modes for music, movies, and games; and THX® Loudness Plus™, a volume-control technology for low-volume listening. My uncle has the 9100THX and my step-bro has the 9300THX as per my recommendation for them to buy them. That system is hands down the best HTiB all from one company on the market. My relatives both bought refurb units for like $650 and love them, and for 7 THX speakers, 1 THX sub and a THX receiver $650 is a steal. The features of the receivers are nice, they support 3D and have DTS HD MA and Dolby TrueHD and it has Audyssey room correction software I think it only has 2EQ which is the lowest version but still better than nothing.... Also don't really pay attention to the freq resp listed for the speakers and sub.
Item specifics
So to me - the receiver is matched with the wrong speakers, or the speakers are matched with the wrong receiver. I also noticed that my IPOD classic color screen 80 GB did not get recognized when I plug it in the USB port. Does anyone use this older IPOD with the Onkyo 9400? I could not find it stated anywhere that it is not supported. I tried a USB harddrive and I can play the music from that just fine. I went on the Onkyo website to compare both models.
As Onkyo's top packaged system, the THX I/S Plus-certified HT-S9400THX boasts a speaker set to savor. All seven speakers employ a two-way design with A-OMF cone woofers for superb mid-range clarity. The matching powered subwoofer delivers awesome low-end for even the most demanding music, movies, and games.
A/V Receiver
As well as handling internet radio and PC audio sent over a home network, the system's receiver offers a bevy of handy connections. Four 3D-ready HDMI inputs take care of high-def content, such as lossless audio from Dolby or DTS, and video upscaled to spectacular 4K resolution via Qdeo technology. A front-panel USB input provides a digital link for iPod/iPhone audio.
My old Onkyo HT-S580 feels like it gets louder. And the sad thing is it's probably true (I don't have a db meter to test). Estimated delivery dates - opens in a new window or tab include seller's handling time, origin ZIP Code, destination ZIP Code and time of acceptance and will depend on shipping service selected and receipt of cleared payment.
Shipping and handling
The six rear HDMI inputs and main out support pass-through of HDR10, Dolby Vision, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), BT.2020, 4K/60 Hz video, and HDCP 2.2 for enhanced playback compatibility. The front HDMI input provides easy temporary connection for a video camera, while the sub out is well suited for projector connection. DTS Play-Fi is a wireless protocol that works with nearly any audio app on mobile devices and computers. Flick whatever’s playing to the receiver, even different sources to different components at the same time. After doing that I see that the sound from the PS3 and my DirectTV HD DVR is not as loud as I would have liked.
You can also connect high-resolution audio sources to the receiver’s rear-panel USB port. My old onkyo 5.1 setup is actually 100w RMS per channel, which does make a difference . In effect my 2005 low tech onkyo receiver has more power to drive the speakers than the included receiver. Also the HT-S580 system's speakers are ported plastic enclosures - very loud for what they are. Honestly the quality is high enough you don't hear the distortion you'd expect from lesser systems (sometimes can mistaken for being 'louder').
Speaker - Weight
All components within the system are tested to meet THX standards, delivering the same distortion-free sound volume you experience in a commercial theater. Built-in Bluetooth connectivity allows you to wirelessly pair with other Bluetooth-enabled audio sources such as computers, smartphones, and tablets for music playback. Onboard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity give you the ability to stream music from Internet radio sources like Pandora and Deezer.

Qdeo is a versatile video processor that uses algorithms designed to erase video noise and artifacts such as jaggies and feathering. Played back on a compatible wide-screen display, your Blu-ray Discs and DVDs will look more detailed and cinematic than ever. Stream any music from your compatible smartphone, laptop, or computer to the HT-S9800THX. Control playback with Chromecast-enabled apps from your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, Mac or Windows laptop, or Chromebook. Chromecast built-in is scheduled to be made available following a future firmware update.
Other inputs let you incorporate PC video, Onkyo peripherals, and countless other playback sources. Audyssey technologies enable you to customize the soundstage, dynamics, and volume, while interactive on-screen menus let you navigate your content with ease. When it comes to all-in-one home entertainment, the HT-S9400THX oozes class from first to last.
